Mack Knife (Mask’s Unit)

A transformable Mobile Suit designed for use in Space, deployed by the Capital Army. While the mass production Mack Knife use mono-eye sensors, this model has been redesigned for use by Ace Pilots and has Twin Eye Sensors. It also wears the colors personally chosen by its pilot.

Ranged Weapons

Main: Beam Vulcan
4 shots per button press, staggers on 4 shots. Max fire 12 shots.  Shared ammo with MS Form

Charged Main: Beam Vulcan (Focused)
Fires a pair of beams, 60 damage if only 1 beam hit. Vernier. Charge gauge carries over to MA Form.

Charged Melee: Photon Bomb
Fires 2 missiles that has a small explosion on impact. If Assist is active, Assist will also fire together.

Sub: Plasma Claw (Net)
Stands still and deploys 2 beam walls in a V shape forward, stuns target on contact.

Special Shooting: Grenade Launcher
Fires grenades from legs. Shared ammo with MA Form. Reloads on empty, so use it up quickly if you want to have max ammo before engaging.

This weapon have 3 types of input:
1)2/5AC: Fires 4 grenades at target
2)4/6AC: Spins sideway twice while firing 4 grenades. moves while a distance sideways
3)8AC: Fires grenades backwards to propel Mack Knife forward. Can cancel into any melee after the jump, but does not cut tracking.

Special Melee: Babara’s Mack Knife (Assist)
Summons Babara’s Mack Knife as Assist which will follow you around. This Assist WILL NOT do anything until you enter BC again to give it a command. Other than that, this Assist will only attack during CSB and 2ABC. It will also get stuck behind buildings, which in turn could be used as a tactic.

Mask’s unit will do a summoning animation (causes vernier) during the initial BC, but additional commands using BC while the Assist is active will not cause vernier, unless it was down after a turnaround shot. Takes about 4 seconds less to reload during Burst.

This assist have 3 types of command:
1)2/5BC: Fires Beam vulcan. Fast start up and good stagger values.
2)4/6BC: Fires a thin gerobi.
3)8BC: Fires 4 missiles directly forward, good tracking.

Automatically equipped during Burst. Mobility and Boost Efficiency greatly improves.

During MA Form

Able to fire in a almost 180 degree arc, faster firing speed than MS form. Shared ammo with MS Form.

Charged Main: Beam Vulcan (Focused)
Transforms back to MS Form,  fires a pair of beams, 60 damage if only 1 beam hit. Charge gauge carries over to MS Form.

Charged Melee: Photon Bomb
Transforms back to MS and fires 2 missiles that has a small explosion on impact. If Assist is active, Assist will also fire together. Charge gauge does not carry over to MS Form.

Sub: Plasma Claw (Focused)
Fires a pair of beams from hands.

Special Shooting: Grenade Launcher
Fires 2 grenades towards the sides from each leg, which will then fly forward in a wide arc

Special Melee: Babara’s Mack Knife (Assist)

Strategies

  • Mask’s Mack Knife is more of a melee unit, with his weapons to move around and to induce a stagger or a stun.
  • As it consumes very little boost to transform back and forth between MS and MA, you can use this to cover a lot of ground
  • MA form is great for kiting sideways, especially with the weapons being able to fire sideways.
  • However , Mack Knife has a short red lock, so pick a Striker to assist you in melee combat instead like Gold Sumo. Gold Sumo Striker also works very well as okizeme.
  • Form your own L-shape between yourself and the Assist so your attacks will land more easily.
  • Don’t hope to deal damage with the Assist. Your Assist is to fire stuff to make your opponent move around and spend their boost, then you go in for the melee.
  • Use 8AC to jump over and behind your target to confuse them, and possibly making them do turnaround shots.
  • Remember to change camera during Plasma Claw punch to keep an eye for incoming attacks from the other enemy.
