Overview

Baund Doc can be called a one trick pony, in that it has only one or two moves that makes it a formidable suit at close to mid range, one being it’s Scattering Mega Particle Gun being able to fire akeen to a shotgun or a widespread gerobi. Opponents must always be wary of the sudden gerobi as it covers a wide area while also looking out for the shotgun that causes and instant down if all pallets were to hit. Secondly, is it’s 2B, a flying kick with a long hitbox similar to other melee that is stab based, this allows Baund Doc to easily poke an opponent and grab them with it’s claw for a good punching session!

Melee Set

5BBB: Left Slash~Right Slash~Uppercut

There is a camera effect on the third slash, this slash launches the opponent upwards which allows a follow up. There’s nothing notable about this melee.

8BB: Saber Stab~Smash

Stabs with the beam saber, causes a strong stagger effect. Follows up with a smash that causes a bounce down effect but it’s hard to follow up thus suggesting that it’s used as a quick down and dividing the opponent from the partner.

4BB: Claw Slash~Claw Swipe

Slashes the opponent once with the claw before doing an uppercut with the back of the claw, there’s no camera effect, the combo pacing is quite good and has decent cut resistance. However the charge speed is quite slow, therefore it’s not recommended to spam this move in a rainbow war. It’s preferred to use as a feint.

2B: Flying Kick,Upward Kick

This move is a 1 input, 2 attack. The priority for this move is good as there’s little start up and the hitbox is longer than usual, it has bad cut resistance however as the move travel rate is slow.

CC8BBB: Beam Saber Slash~Claw Swipe

Launch the opponent with the beam saber, stuns with a slash-through then swipes with the claw. Causes spinning down on the last hit. The slash through makes it looks like it’s difficult to interrupt, but due to the swipe being slow, don’t count on it. It’s good to note that the first hit has good reach and decent start up, best use after landing a BR or a sneak attack.

BC~B: Claw Arm Grab~3 Punches

Grabs the opponent, punches 3 times with the last punch causing a bounce effect, allowing for a follow up. This move is best used for 1v1 situations where Baund Doc is allowed to dish out a lot of damage with repetition of this move.

BC~A: Claw Arm Grab~Scattering Mega Particle Gun

Grabs the opponent, shoots the Scattering Mega Particle Gun at point blank, causing an instant down. While this melee is cool and it downs the opponent instantly, the start up of this move makes it hard to perform the whole animation therefore it’s rarely used.

Burst Attack

You are the one who spurred me to fight!

Slash through, does a melee combo before slam dunking the opponent which sends the opponent flying!

Melee Set

*B: Spinning Tackle

The only melee Baund Doc has in MA mode, where it spins in MA mode, doing a drill like effect on the opponent which causes the opponent to enter an untechable state, it has slow startup so it’s better to just melee in MS mode.

Strategies

  • Hitting the gerobi (AC) is your bread and butter. It has a huge hitbox. While the move is great in MS form, it functions better in MA form as it will carry over more inertia prior to firing, and the move can be barrel-rolled out of. Of course, if all you do is go for gerobi in this mode, you will start getting predictable, so mix it up a little.
  • While the suit is very simple, one of the more advanced techniques is hitting your sub in MA form. Trying to predict the direction the enemy is dashing in, and maneuver Baund Doc to face where they are going before firing. While it’s really hard to pull off, it’s incredibly satisfying when you do!
